S3 Senior Phase Information Evening

A reminder that there is a Senior Phase Information Evening Thursday 2nd March 5.45-8pm; The evening will start at 5.45pm in the Lecture Hall for S3 students and parents. The evening will then have presentations for different subject areas including Borders College Courses, careers and university advice (LEAPS) where students and parents can opt into. Pastoral teachers will be available on the evening to see parents as required. Any questions please see your pastoral teacher or Mrs Ratcliffe as soon as possible.


Volunteering Opportunity – ‘Special Fun Together’

If you are interested in volunteering to work with people with disabilities, please contact ‘Special Fun Together’ group on 07973890911. They are looking for young people 16 +to help with activities run once a month for 1.5 hour in the Burnfoot Community Hub.


Annual Hawick Art Club s1/2 “Still Life” Art Competition

Hawick Art Club usually choose the winning entries from S1/S2 class work during the month of May. If you would like to put in an extra entry into the competition come along to a meeting at 1.45 p.m. on Tuesday 28th February 2017 in Mrs Murray’s Art Room H7, where we can arrange extra art sessions in the department to allow you to use facilities in the art department.

Hawick Albion win Scottish Youth U16 Cup

The youngsters of Hawick Albion and Hawick High School beat off the highly fancied Ayr/Wellington School team to win the Scottish Youth Under 16 Cup at the national stadium.


Pupil Reports Issued

Pupil reports have been issued to all S2 pupils today. Also, a reminder that there is an S2 Parents Evening on Tuesday 7th February 5pm – 7.30pm


Resilient School Policy

Dear Parent/Guardian

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of Scottish Borders Council’s “Resilient School Policy”. Under this policy Hawick High School will remain open to S1 & S2 pupils in the event of adverse weather.


Prelims

As we have to start the afternoon session at 1pm to allow transport home, any student who has a prelim starting at 1pm should be let out of class at 12.15pm for their lunch.


Alchemy Film And Moving Image Festival

The Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival takes place in Hawick each year. This year the festival will run from Thursday 2nd to Monday 6th March. This event attracts independent film makers, artists, designers and directors from all around the world to Hawick.
