S2 Pupils Take Part in the Annual MasterChef Competition

This month, S2 pupils have been taking part in the annual MasterChef competition. The school has been running the competition, which is similar to the BBC show, for over 10 years and it has proven to be very popular with all the pupils who take part. The theme  for this year was ‘innovation’. Pupils were asked to create a new dish or put a modern twist on a classic dish. The MasterChef competition kicked off when pupils had the opportunity to see a demonstration given by a professional chef. The demonstration showed pupils how to incorporate this years theme into their dishes and pupils were then invited to taste the dishes made by the chef.

The heats began on Tuesday 3rd May and continued on throughout the week until Monday 9th May. A team of two pupils from each class were chosen and they then went on to take part in the MasterChef finals on Wednesday 18th May.

The winners were Hannah Thomson and Sophie Mitchell who made chili chicken for their main course and a chilli and chocolate cheesecake for their dessert. Well done to all those who competed in the competition, the standard was very high.
