S1 Rugby VS Kelso HS Friday 23 October 2015

The S1 Rugby squad followed up their emphatic eight tries to one victory over Jedburgh Grammar School just before the October break with a hard-fought win(19-16) over their counterparts from Kelso HS on Friday afternoon. Hawick struggled to shake off some rustiness particularly in terms of support play against a physically imposing Kelso side but managed to win the battle up front through some aggressive tackling and running from the likes of Corey “The Beast” Tait, Marcus “The Silent Assassin” Brogan, Jordan Graham and Harry Scott. The backs, who were well marshalled by Cian Riddell, had to put in some strong defensive work but still showed glimpses of their attacking ability through some elusive running by the likes of Mathew MacDonald, Tom Huggan, Blair Knight, Charlie Comely, Lewis Knaggs and the dynamic Clark Graham. Tries were scored by Corey Tait, Marcus Brogan, Blair Knight, Lewis Knaggs and Cian Riddell who also converted four of these tries to earn himself the Man of the Match Award. Well done, Team Hawick!
