SI Rugby A and B Team Results VS Peebles HS at Peebles on Saturday 12th September

The SI Rugby Teams continued their winning ways with two hard-fought performances in driving rain against physically larger opponents at Peebles HS last Saturday. The A Team kept a clean sheet for the second week in a row and ran in six unanswered tries through Blair Knight, Tom Huggan, Marcus Brogan, Robbie Stewart, Kobi Watson and a joint effort from Steven Cook and Adam Crombie. Kobi Watson displayed great pace as well as typical Teri toughness and played with what was later revealed to be a fractured thumb for most of the game.

The Hawick boys dominated the game because of the unrelenting pressure up front from the tight forwards like Adam Crombie and the much improved Evan Kirkpatrick as well as some team tackling from the likes of the back row of Robbie Stewart, Corey Tait and Marcus Brogan. Debutante Kye Brydon and backs like Blair Knight also stood out for their uncompromising defence. The half back combination of Blair Grant and Cian Riddell worked very well in providing some excellent ball to an exciting backline who provided some skilful running and well-worked tries. . The A Team Man of the Match Award goes to Marcus Brogan for doing all the simple things well.

The B Team also dominated their opponents for most of the match and ran in ten tries to four through captain Martin Goldie (2), Tom Macaskill (2), the elusive Fraser Renwick (2), Sean Clifford, Charlie Comley, Brandon Watson and vice-captain Bruce Collison. Jordan Graham, Brandon Bouglas and Bruce Collison had good games up front and harried the opposition whilst the half back combination of Tom Macaskill and Martin Goldie demonstrated the strength in depth which this squad possesses by running the game in a very efficient manner. The B Team Man of the Match Award goes to Thomas Macaskill for his courage and all round game management.
