Under 15 Rugby

The final of the George Jack South Schools U15 Rugby Cup was held on Wednesday 6th May at Riverside Park, Jedburgh. The Hawick High U15 boys squad were up against a very physical Kelso High School team. They played their hearts out until the final whistle but were unlucky to lose the game 35 points to 22. Well done to all the boys who played and got the team so far this year.

On Saturday 9th May Ishbel Inglis and Laura Webster, who are both currently in S3, travelled over to Melrose to take part in a girls U15 match that was running alongside this year’s Crichton Cup. The two girls joined up with girls from Jedburgh and Duns High Schools to play against a team consisting of girls from Galashiels and Earlston. Ishbel and Laura both scored tries which contributed towards the final victory of 20-15 to the Hawick/Jed/Duns team. Current Girls Rugby development officer, Simone Lynn, then singled out Ishbel for specific praise after the match. Well done to both Laura and Ishbel who represented Hawick High School with sheer determination and talent.
